The Windows component - or sidebar in English, allows Windows to display gadgets (widgets by contraction). However, while useful and visually careful, this new Vista incorporated into the Aero interface, none the less memory (RAM). Here is the solution to close temporarily or permanently.

Case No. 1: temporary deactivation

Right-click on the icon for the Windows component housed in the notification, then click Close.

The component will disappear until the next reboot the system.

Case No. 2: final closure

To get rid completely of Windows component, right-click Properties directly on the latter.

There, uncheck the Windows Start Strand at the same time as Windows. Confirm by clicking on OK.

If you want to reactivate thereafter enter Properties Panel Windows - the first letters enough in the search box in the Start menu. We'll have to check again the box to the automatic start with Windows.

The properties of Strand Windows are also accessible via the Appearance section of the Control Panel.

This trick will free some memory… it is always good to take if your PC is not very young ;)
