At each opening of CD or DVD, USB keys, digital cameras, flash cards or other removable media, Windows automatically displays a window depending on the content present on the support newly inserted. Each type of content (movies, pictures, games, etc..) Is associated with one or several specific actions between which you can choose the one to make - unless an automatic action has been defined by default. Useful at first sight, this feature can quickly seem invasive! Plus for a long time after reading this tip.
To disable the automatic execution of Vista, you just have to go to the Control Panel and then open Read CDs or other media automatically under and audio equipment.
You then have the choice to disable it for certain types of media or all:
- Case No. 1: uncheck the Use automatic execution for all media and all peripherals;
- Case No. 2: For the medium of your choice, pull down the list and select Do nothing.
To complete the transaction, click Save.
Now your devices can automatically launch a particular application, nor does it ask to choose an action.
