Like any self-respecting Microsoft, the passage of time is synonymous with congestion of the system. Temporary files, error reports, trash full, cookies, cache applications, invalid registry ... the list goes on just about anything that unnecessarily clutter your PC. Even if you have a powerful machine, be aware that the hard disk that the first suffers the consequences. A system which allows access to files faster and thus better performance.
So do not wait and read the following tutorial!

Use CCleaner, the professional cleaning

CCleaner is free and available in many languages including French. So why deny it?

Download it at:

Download CCleaner

Follow the usual installation and then set the software as follows:

  • In the cleaner section, check everything with the exception of Cache Arrangement Menu, Cache Size / Position of Windows, History User Wizard and Custom folders and files;
    You will notice that this section is divided into 2 tabs Windows and Applications. Applications for the part, check depending on your needs and unchecking for example MSN Messenger, if you wish to delete the login;
  • In the Register, feel free to check any prudent even if it is better to make a backup of it before any manipulation (default option or activated in the Options). Note that I never encountered any problems and you can use this program without moderation;
  • The Tools section is again divided into 2 parts.
    The first uninstall program, lets you like on the Add / Remove Programs in Windows to do the same but also rename or delete an entry would be invalid. Fort practice when a program is uninstalled wrong.
    The second, Boot, is none other than msconfig.exe accessible from Run. It allows you to choose the programs to launch when Windows starts. Please do not confuse with the Startup folder in the Start menu, even if CCleaner also reference the entries in this folder. Not only remove programs that you seem unnecessary and those whose uninstall did not remove the boot entry (yes, it's possible!). There are no lists of programs whose launch was unnecessary because the choices are very subjective but note that a limited number of programs greatly accelerate the start of the PC;
  • I let you discover the Options section full of settings to configure your office needs such as the exclusion of certain files to clean or delete secure type NOS ...

As you can see, CCleaner is excellent for scouring depth in the system without jeopardizing its integrity. However, some files can be deleted to win up to several gigabytes!

Use the Disk Cleanup Windows Vista

Present in earlier versions of Windows, this feature allows you to delete unnecessary files in the system. Although not exhaustive in its choice of deletion, it gives the possibility to delete some files are not accessible from CCleaner (at least for the moment because this software evolves continuously).

  • Right-click the volume you want to wash (the partition in general), then Properties;
  • On the General tab, click Disk Cleanup;
  • Wait a few moments time to analyze the system;
  • Check according to your needs while you can usually remove without any problems. Feel free to read the information on each of the options available.
    Thus, unlike CCleaner, Windows Vista suggested that the files archived reports errors or thumbnails of files;
  • Once the choices made by clicking on OK OK;
  • It remains now to deal with restore points. Indeed, according to System Restore occupies several gigabytes default unless you've disabled or reduced.
  • To do this, go back to the utility Disk Cleanup (I note in passing that you can access the Start menu by typing Disk Cleanup) and open the More Options tab;
  • In the System Restore and Shadow, then click Clean validate by clicking Delete;

Perform these same operations for all the volumes on your PC.

    You can also use Clean, downloadable from this site:
    http://www.pcinpact.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=106555

    Some precautions taken anyway: Finish downloads on its software Peer2Peer as E-mule, because clean will remove all temporary files (although it notes that the download was in progress).

    1 / Place Clean.cmd at the root of the drive system, C in our case (with other folders: Programs, Windows ...).

    2 / In Start / Run, type cmd, then confirm.

    3 / In the console, type cd c: \ (>>>> If C is your system drive or partition "" The cursor will then C: \

    4 / To run Clean v2.0, type: clean / i / r

    After you can also take SpeedUp My PC:
    http://www.01net.com/telecharger/windows/Utilitaire/systeme/fiches/25875.html

    It cleans files that CCleaner may overlook or forget.

    ;-)
