The tool configuration system, commonly called msconfig, offers many opportunities to fine tune the start of your PC. The best-known trick is to uncheck the programs that start at boot the computer, here is another, less known as having made its appearance with the dual-core processors and quad-core.
This trick is aimed at owners of new CPU generations integrating several hearts such as Core 2 Duo at Intel or Athlon X2 Dual-Core from AMD. The 4-core versions are also affected by this manipulation.
We will therefore indicate the number of processors to be used during the time it takes to boot the PC (boot). Thus, this action will help increase the number of processors that will be involved in the boot process which will reduce the time to boot.
To do this, open the Start menu and type msconfig and press Enter. A new window will appear on system configuration.
Here, go to the Start tab, then click Advanced…
Check the number of processors and then to indicate the number in the list. In this example, we can not go beyond 2:
Confirm by clicking on OK. Restart the PC to see enhanced performance, however small it may be.
