Replace the disk Defragmenter Windows Vista O & O Defrag

In the same way as for the Disk Cleanup with Ccleaner, it is possible to replace the Windows defragmenter program by default that of your choice. While it is fairly effective, the Defragmenter disc has no GUI - unlike XP, or even any other option. Why not replace it with another much more complete software such as O & O Defrag or Diskeeper? Direction register for a change quickly and without danger.

This trick will allow us to replace the utility disk defragmentation Windows by that of your choice. You must therefore have previously installed software cleaning whose leaders are O & O Defrag and Diskeeper.

Next, open the Start menu, then enter regedit in the search box.

Once opened, find the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ explorer \ MyComputer \ DefragPath

In the right pane, change the channel showing the location of defragmentation software. Remember to keep quotes.

Confirm by clicking on OK and close the Registry Editor.

Restart the computer and run the Disk Defragmenter via a right click Properties on the score of his choice. Open the Tools tab and click Defragment Now…

O & O Defrag or any other defragmenter program will start in place of the Windows utility.
