Purity is a theme for WordPress all compatible versions. Based on a style clean, clear and simple, this theme is composed of 2 columns in order to highlight the content of your articles. As you probably noticed, it relies heavily on the theme of the blog, theme with a great success at its introduction to replace the old one. Here therefore available for all, and is free of charge.

Overview

Purity - purity, french, is a WordPress theme based on the excellent MassivePress theme Jason Schuller. The latter is the author of numerous themes free and premium (pay) you can see a preview via the link partner in the sidebar (Press 75).

Of course, I did not stop to apply a simple lifting as I have done with Mimbo. Here many features the theme of commodities have been deleted, others improved or added.

The design is meant first and foremost simple keeping in mind, ensuring a good user experience: the visitor should not be buried under the mass of useless options or wait long seconds, the time for all images or other JavaScript are fully loaded.

Remember, finally, that certain functions on Maigret's Blog were voluntarily removed from the theme, because I think it belongs to everyone to decide what should be the features to add or not in the theme.

Do not figure therefore, as an example: links to digg-likes and social bookmarks, browsing page improved, and so on.

However, this theme is full of options. I will therefore submit to you the key below.

Key Features

Among the main options theme, are:

• The separation of trackbacks comments;
• The counter comments / trackbacks;
• Numbering comments;
• Integration of gravatars;
• Models of pages included: archives by category, links by category;
• 2 sidebars widgetisé (right and below);
• Champ personalized "Image" authorizing the addition of a miniature for articles;

The sidebars

The theme consists of 2 sidebars, a right and the other at the bottom - just above the footer (footer).

Sidebar right

The sidebar (side) displays a native:

• The search bar;
• The categories with their respective feeds;
• RSS feeds of articles and commentaries;
• The recent comments;

By modifying the code somewhat the theme of origin, it is now widgetisé, ie that you can add your own widgets via the panel WordPress hotel without losing the native widgets -- Préintégrés in the code.

It is also possible to delete widgets préintégrés removing tags <div> different.

Sidebar bottom

Instead of using an additional side, I preferred to add a bottom. It is therefore a secondary aspect, very convenient to contain widgets useful but not necessarily essential for the visitor - or at least in the first place.

It functions as the previous one: you can add your own widgets in addition to those provided natively, as you can delete those of your choice via the code.

The present native widgets are:

• Tag Cloud;
• Popular articles;

Plugins provided

I have voluntarily integrated 2 plugins theme: Popularity Contest and Subscribe To Comments.

To install them, nothing more simple: once the ZIP file is downloaded, upload them to your file / wp-content/plugins / then activate them as any plugins.

The first to display the most popular articles in the sidebar at the bottom.

The second adds a check to receive the latest comments published by e-mail, very useful to follow a conversation in which they participated, for example.

Field (custom field) "Image"

This theme allows you to view a miniature of each article. To do this, simply add the key Image as a new custom field - the value corresponding to the URL of the image.

The recommended size is 80 x 80 pixels although it is changed in the CSS.

Changing the logo

To replace the logo by default that of your choice, replace the file logo.jpg located in the folder / wp-content/themes/purity/images /

If the amendment does takes place properly, change # header in the CSS and indicate the full URL of the image for the property background-image.

Downloads

This theme is freely downloadable. His free does not unless you let the credits in the footer (foot-page) and CSS. Nothing prevents you therefore to change while maintaining information on the original authors.
